Howdy Rocky Bayou Riders!!!

Welcome to Rocky Bayou Stables! We are so excited to introduce our new programs to you! Rocky Bayou Stables is now offering a Trot-N-Tots class for children ages 3-8 and their parents to enjoy.  Some of the other programs we have available are birthday parties, camps, Boy/Girl Scout merit badge program, a home schooling program, and private or group lessons.              

Each new riding student will always begin with at least one private lesson so that we may evaluate their skill level. Once we feel a student has enough control and confidence to be in a group lesson we will encourage them to do so.

We are looking forward to getting everyone involved in our new riding program.  As children progress, they will "test" out of a level to move on to the next level. Once the test has been passed, a certificate and or a prize will be awarded.

We teach "WHOLE HORSE"... meaning that we teach the student to do everything from leading the horse, to picking the horse's hooves, to grooming, to putting on & taking off the saddle and bridle, etc. This type of instruction results in a truly self sufficient rider. Once students (if they are large enough) master grooming & tacking their horse they may arrive early, prepare the horse, & thus the hour evolves into being 'in the saddle.'

The lessons available are one hour in length and will be taken as a private lesson or will be taken as a group lesson with two to three students per instructor.

 The cost of lessons is as follows:
                         Private 1 hour lesson:  $50.00
                         Group 1 hour lesson:    $40.00 (per student)
                                 *Checks should be made out to Rocky Bayou Stables & should be paid at the time of lesson.

All students, parents, and/or legal guardians are required to sign a 'release' of liability. We are not responsible for any injuries incurred, but we do take all the possible steps to insure that no accidents happen.

Each student will be required to wear closed toes shoes with a slight heel, preferably paddock boots, as well as an ASTM/SEI certified riding helmet, and student’s pants should have tight leggings, schooling tights, or riding breeches. We also suggest students bring water to each lesson; they will take short water breaks during their lessons.

Please be considerate of the hour that you have booked for your lesson and understand that we have a great deal of riders that wish to ride; if you are unable to make your lesson give us ample (at the very least) 24 hours notice so that we may make proper arrangements. If ample notice is not given a non­-cancellation fee of $10.00 will be charged at your next lesson.
